Warts is caused by HPV which is a virus. There are over 200 different types of HPV. Warts are harmless. Warts are not cancerous and warts will drop off with time. Warts can be treated very easily at your local sexual health clinic. It is very important to get a full sexual health screen. However if your warts are not going and even getting worse and you have tried various treatments, then make sure you are not smoking or taking any nicotine containing products. Nicotine can inhibit the SIRT1 enzyme which is needed to get rid of the HPV virus. So consuming any form of nicotine even if it is not every day and only once a week, will mean your body will struggle in getting rid of the HPV virus. The solution while sounds simple can be very difficult which is to stop smoking, stop using all nicotine containing products (e.g. gum, vape, patches, sprays etc).
