#RE71RS #bridgestone #civictyper #apexpro Bridgestone RE71RS D Street Type R Tire Test 0:00 - Waiting to run 0:07 - Launching 0:57 - Finish 0:59 - Celebrating 1:01 - Opinion We ran 4 morning and 4 afternoon tests on two sets of wheels and tires to determine what would work best for the D street Honda Civic Type R. The tires and sizes we tested were the 245/35R20 Yokohama A052 vs. 255/35R19 Bridgestone RE-71RS. After the 4 morning runs on the A052, I was top pax and leading pro class with a 49.8xx. I struggled to be able to use the brakes because they kept engaging ABS with very little pedal travel. Going into the afternoon with the Bridgestone RE-71RS was a big change! I could use the brake more and modulate the release much better without constant ABS engagement. This made a big difference as my first run was 7 TENTHS faster than my fastest run with the A052! This was not a fluke, as every run I had on the Bridgestones was faster than all of my A052 runs. A052 51.447 50.486 50.575 49.806 RE-71RS 49.181 49.732 missed 2nd up shift to 3rd 49.115 49.364 I was pretty shocked to feel the performance difference and really hope the new Bridgestone RE-71RS will come out in some big 18/19 sizes for the pony car crowd to test out. I know this wasn't a perfect comparison as the tire sizes were different on different weight wheels, but it's better than nothing! Follow on Instagram / flyinfinchm. .
