Yorkshire's heritage branch line, the Keighley & Worth Valley have been operating intensive timetables through the summer season. As part of the attraction to visitors, the railway have been running 'Vintage Train' services on weekends, featuring a rake of historic coaches to compliment their BR Mk1's. In addition, the railway would be offering passengers a 'Pullman Dining Experience' with two of their 1930's built Pullman coaches. On the day, the railway was operating its Blue timetable, which features two service trains working between Oxenhope and Keighley. Affectionately known as 'Big Jim', resident S160 - 5820 would provide traction for one of the services. For the other service, sole-surviving Derby built 4F - 43924 would take the helm for the day, with Class 20 - 20031 working two return trips in the morning before 43924 came off Haworth shed. The 4F was recently granted a boiler ticket extension, as it nears the end of its current term of operation. 2021 will be marking 43924's 101st birthday, having been built in 1920; and also marks a tipping point, as the 4F has spent more years as a preserved locomotive than it achieved in its service life.
