Robert Jenrick has been in the headlines recently for filming a video in a train station where he confronted fare dodgers. In the video Jenrick confronts people for not paying for a ticket and in one case hands someone over to the police for refusing to pay. He followed this video up by calling out Sadiq Khan for allowing this, and many other forms of crime, to run rampant in London. In spite of the fact that Robert Jenrick was right to call this problem out, he was met with a mixed reaction from the media. Namely LBC who released an “exclusive” revealing Robert Jenrick did not have permission to film in the train station. This is convenient given that LBC is owned by the same company that Sadiq Khan allows to advertise across London train stations.
