In this episode, we sit down with a digital marketing strategist, entrepreneur and author explaining the struggles she faced, being a woman of colour in the industry. 36-Year-Old Karen, was born in Brooklyn, New York and was brought up in a Haitian-American family. Civil went on to work an internship at a radio station. In 2008 civil developed her own website which targeted the hip-hop industry tackling marketing and digital strategy. Civil got her breakthrough in 2010 when she and Lil Wayne made a website specifically for his fan mail and then she took on digital marketing for Beats by Dr Dre.
