Trooper's Report: On October 29, 2025, at approximately 11:25 PM, Troop K Dispatch notified Post 3 units of a vehicle pursuit initiated by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office on Interstate 30 Eastbound approaching the 54-mile marker. I, Trooper Matt Hall, positioned my patrol unit at the 69-mile marker on-ramp in preparation to assist. Dispatch advised that the suspect vehicle was traveling at speeds of approximately 140 miles per hour. As the pursuit approached my location, I entered the interstate eastbound, traveling in the number two lane, and activated my emergency lights and siren. Upon making visual contact with the suspect vehicle, I assumed the primary position in the pursuit. The suspect vehicle was described as a silver and red Honda sport motorcycle displaying Arkansas license plate AR 346HN. After assuming the primary position, the suspect continued to flee in a reckless manner, frequently changing between the number one and number two lanes and at times passing other vehicles on the right shoulder in an effort to evade me. At approximately the 98-mile marker, the suspect began to reduce speed and exited the roadway into the median. I approached the passenger side of the vehicle and gave verbal commands for the suspect to stop. After several unsuccessful commands, I positioned my unit in an attempt to prevent the suspect from reentering the roadway. The suspect then made contact with the driver’s side door of my patrol unit. After the suspect vehicle came to a complete stop, I exited my patrol unit and placed the suspect, later identified as DJ Thomas into custody without further incident. The suspect was then placed into the custody of a Nevada County Sheriff’s Deputy and transported to the Nevada County Jail for processing. Prescott PD officer Cason Reed initiated the pursuit. Prescott PD has started a case over the matter.
