The Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit 2 is a neutral road shoe with stability features. It cost $160 U.S. dollars. It weights 9.7oz or 273g for a men's size 9, on my scales. It has Nike's advanced FlyKnit upper that is lightweight and breathable. The upper has shown no signs of wear over the last 50 miles. The eyelet chain features Nike's Flywire system that does a great job in allowing you to dial in a great mid foot lockdown feeling that is secure and comfortable. The fly wires consistently create a lockdown feeling mile after mile. Very nice. The upper itself is a booty like construction that is soft, with a little stretch to it. One of my concerns when I initially reviewed this shoe centered around the tongue and how the stitches seemed to be pulling away. I was concerned that it might rip or tear right off. Fortunately that has not happened. However, I still am concerned about the quality of the stitching and will connote to evaluate and assess this aspect of the shoe. The heel counter has a lot of structure along with a plastic heel clip that wraps about the counter and extends well passed your mid foot. This provides a good deal of motion control. This is a second area of concern after my initial impression. I initially felt like the plastic of the heel clip was digging into the side of my foot when I first tried on the shoes. However, I did not feel it when I began running in them with the exception of making really tight corners. Overall this is no longer a concern of mine. The midsole is full length React foam. It has a stack height in the heel of 33mm and 24mm in the forefoot that creates a 9mm offset from your heel to toe. The shoe also has a good deal of material in the arch. If you have a high arch foot, I think you'll enjoy this features. Personally having a lower arch, I was concerned that this might also cause me some discomfort over long workouts. The higher arch however has not been an issue for me. I feel it but it's not uncomfortable. The Reach foam provides for a highly cushioned run experience with plenty of energy return to help you move efficiently through your gait. The forefoot of the outsole is wide and gives your a big platform to land on that adds to the overall stability of the shoe. There is plenty of rubber on the outsole which adds durability and grip to the road. Overall the Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit running shoes are comfortable, highly cushioned, daily trainer. They are not the fastest shoes on the market but they will give you plenty of comfortable miles. With the exception of my concern over the stitching that hold the tongue on, I am very impressed with these running shoes.
