Enjoy these animations of radar reflections from standard calibration targets: Sphere, dihedral and trihedral retro-reflectors (corner reflectors). Some nuances: The sphere has a weak but almost frequency-independent diffuse reflection (all directions); the corner reflectors have much stronger retro reflections, are not frequency independent, but are tolerant of misalignment; the flat plate has the strongest specular reflection (single direction), but "flats" are very alignment sensitive with their highly directive large aperture. Excitation 4 GHz, 80 ps wide Gaussian pulse, FDTD Simulation Size is 28 million cells 3D contours bound all field strength stronger than -12 dBic, color gradients are linear =========================================================== Modeled with openEMS - Open Electromagnetic Field Solver Special thanks to the author Thorsten Liebig of General and Theoretical Electrical Engineering (ATE), University of Duisburg-Essen, www.openEMS.de This work utilized the Paraview visualization software by Kitware Inc Audio track: All I Did Was Wait For You by Kjartan Abel Visit https://kjartan-abel.com/library to find free music for your next project.
