My video on the funeral of Reinhard Heydrich was uploded to YouTube on or around 3 April 2025. It went public at the end of June and received just under 6000 views in the first few hours. YouTube then took the video down and gave me a warning that if I repeated this offence within three months, I would face sanction. After a failed appeal and a definitive "No" from YouTube, my historical documentary footage of Reinhard Heydrich’s 1942 funeral has been permanently removed. This video explains why YouTube’s current algorithm refuses to distinguish between historical documentation and "Hate Speech." 📜 THE HISTORICAL CONTEXT The funeral of Reinhard Heydrich followed "Operation Anthropoid," the assassination of the "Hangman of Prague." This event was a massive propaganda spectacle of the Third Reich, featuring Hitler, Himmler, and the highest ranks of the Nazi regime. To study this event is to understand the nature of state-sponsored mourning and the scale of the regime’s propaganda machine. 🚫 WHY WAS IT CENSORED? Despite the Educational, Documentary, Scientific, and Artistic (EDSA) guidelines, YouTube’s automated systems flagged the archival symbols and figures. The Strike: The video was flagged for "Violent Criminal Organizations" / "Hate Speech." The Appeal: I formally appealed the decision, highlighting the documentary nature of the footage. The Denial: YouTube denied the appeal within seconds, confirming that their policy now prioritizes the removal of "restricted" imagery over the preservation of historical primary sources. 🏛️ WHY THIS MATTERS When we sanitize history by deleting the visual records of totalitarian regimes, we lose the ability to analyze how those regimes functioned.
