Serial bomb blasts rocked Mahabodhi temple in Bihar's Bodhgaya district on Sunday, July 7. Sources informed that at least 8 bombs were planted inside the temple, however, one bomb has been defused by bomb squad. At least two people were injured as the bombs reportedly were of low-intensity. According to IANS reports, the IM operatives had informed them that they had spent 15 days in Bihar doing a recce of the temple. Bihar government condemns the serial blasts in Bodh Gaya, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar says, "Temple will be reopened as soon as NIA complete its probe." Ministry of Home Affairs has confirmed that the blasts at Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya are terror attack. We condemn the incident. When there was intelligent input then things should be taken seriously. Stringent action should be taken. This is a security lapse. If there was intelligence reports then why no action was taken by state government," Ravi Shankar Prasad said. "Only Buddhist monks were allowed in to offer prayers in the temple as usual. The government has decided not to discontinue the regular prayers and worship by monks in the temple," said Bihar police chief. There were no damage to the temple shrine.
