Rosh Hashanah isn’t only apples, honey, and blessings—it’s the day we return to fundamentals. The shofar takes us back to the root, the “voice before words,” and asks one core question: will we choose life? In this talk we explore the Medrash on “Let us make man,” why the human is a battlefield of free will, and why every Rosh Hashanah re-opens the cosmic debate: “Should you be created?” Drawing on Rambam and classic Torah sources, we unpack why the Torah first presents two viable paths—life/blessing or death/curse—and only then says “Choose life.” We’ll see a powerful insights from Kabbalists how both paths end in perfection, but only one fulfills the purpose of creation—when you choose to bring good into the world. The shofar is our pledge to crown Hashem as King through active, responsible choice. If this resonated, please like 👍, share, and subscribe for more daily Torah, inspiration, and practical Judaism.
