Chasing Mass Central's New Bluebird

The Massachusetts Central Railroad recently acquired a pair of GP38-2s painted in a Boston and Maine "bluebird" inspired paint scheme. The units were placed into service a few weeks prior to the shooting of this video after the line had been cleared of brush in preparation for their debut. On Monday, November 11, 2013, we chase the 1750 on an abbreviated day from Palmer to Ware, MA on the former B&M wheelwright branch. The northbound trip was made with 4 cars, setting off the headpin 2 cars at Gibbs transload. The crew returned south with 1 tank car, also set off at Gibbs due to a derailment in Palmer the previous Friday preventing the engine from running around the train. Though the traffic levels and complications from the derailment were not on my side I did get some great-lighted shots of one of the bluebirds I had wanted to get for a while. Thanks for watching!
