Making his first turns at age 4 and having a breakout year in halfpipe at just 15, it's safe to say Gabe Ferguson was a child prodigy. Following his brother Ben’s lead and even beating him at the US Open in 2016, pretty much by osmosis he was starting to place at contests, had a name for himself, an agent, and what looked to be like a real career forming. We talk growing up in Bend, why SLC is better then Bend, contests, halfpipe riding, Brown Cinema, child prodigy, riding with Ben, contests vs. filming, staying chill, and so much more. The only problem with Gabe’s rise to the top was he was just not a competitive person by nature—sure winning felt great and going huge was amazing—but the truth was it just wasn't fun for him. It wasn’t long until his fresh style got him some attention outside of contests and he got the opportunity to film. Filming was where it was at for Gabe and he quickly faded away from the contest scene starting a new chapter in his career.
