From the age of two, he was taught the basics of Ikebana by his grandmother, Hattori Riharu, founder of the Koryu Toyokai, and his mother, Miyamoto Riho, the second generation head of the school. He has participated in the Ryuten exhibition since his university days. He has exhibited at the Ikebana International World Championship and the Japan Ikebana Art Exhibition. In 2009, he was appointed deputy head of the Koryu Toyokai Suiboku Hanatemae School.
