Overland Spain. Avila and Segovia

Hello and welcome back to the channel of our European travels in our VW camper van. In this video we leave Salamanca and travel just an hour East to Ávila. We find a brand new aire and almost have the place to ourselves. Ávila is a medieval walled town, one of the most intact in the world and has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site. We wander around the town and the walls and try out many a local sweet delicacy. We learn about the local martyrs and visit their crypt. Ávila is just beautiful and we recommend anyone to visit if they are in the area. After two nights we head slightly further east to Segovia and its gorgeous Roman aqueduct. We spend the night next to the old bullfighting ring and walk into the town to visit the aqueduct, cathedral and the Alcazar. Sadly we were running low on time by now and only spent one day here, but we will hopefully come back on another trip and spend more time here. Both Segovia and Ávila are lit at night and well worth another walk around after dark to see them literally, in a different light. Next time we head to Bardenas Reales and the Guggenheim in Bilbao so don’t forget to stay tuned for that.
