THE EAST HIGHLAND WAY | Wild Camping | Big Agnes Copper Spur hv ul2 I have just finished wild camping in Scotland along the East Highland Way. This Scottish hiking trail was created in 2007 to link The West Highland Way to The Speyside Way. The East Highland Way is 82 miles long, starting in Fort William and ending in Aviemore, taking in breathtaking highland scenery and passing through pretty villages and gorgeous stretches of forest. I would rate it as one of the best Scottish hiking trails I have hiked, due to how beautiful the trail is and how peaceful it was to hike… unlike the popular and often crowded West Highland Way. I rate this long distance hiking trail as one of my favourite wild camping adventures! Walking the East Highland Way was beautiful, and some of the stunning wild camping spots along the way really made it something special! From glorious camps overlooking the beaches at each end of Laggan Loch, to a peaceful riverside wild camp just after the town of Inverlair. Wild camping Scotland is always a real treat! We used the Hiiker app for its GPS map version of this route and would highly recommend it. It’s packed full of handy features.
