To You, For Your Birthday is the broad title translation and I remember Mirko bringing this back to me from his 1971 trip to Slovenia. I can’t say that I ever consciously wanted to play this song as it is not something that appealed to me as a child but now of course it is a lovely souvenir from someone passed on and it brings back memories of that special time. As you’ll see, there are a photo’s of me and a little bit older as a child and of my father and his family and nephew and nieces from 1971 and that lovely photo of my 7th birthday taken with my late godmother Maria, it’s a classic photo and warm memory of a wonderful person.
