Indeed, if you remove a cup that has not yet baked in the oven, it may break. If you remove the cup when it is baked and cooled, it may also break or you simply will not be able to remove it from the wooden piece. The solution to the problem is that as soon as you remove the cup from the oven, you carefully remove it while it is still hot.
