The West Fork of Oak Creek Trail is one of the most scenic hikes in the Sedona, Arizona area. This 6.5 mile out and back hike features plenty of shade, towering canyon walls and 13 creek crossings along the way. We did this hike in mid to late October of 2022 so those stunning fall colors were starting to show which really added to the amazing views of the hike. You will also be able to explore the ruins of the Mayhew Lodge at the beginning of the trail which offers some incredible history so be sure to stop and check it out! This trail has its own trailhead parking lot but parking is limited and comes with a fee so be sure to check online what the current fees are. We paid $11 per vehicle to park at the trailhead. If you do not park at the trailhead parking area, there was an entry fee of $2 per person to walk in. The Grand Annual Red Rock Pass is also accepted at this trailhead. Be sure to get to the trailhead as early as possible as it will fill up very fast! The trailhead opened at 8 AM when we were there but we arrived at 7:00 AM and were the second car in line. We ended up being allowed to enter at 7:30, though which was nice! This is a very popular trail so be sure to start early to avoid the crowds. Dogs are also allowed, but must be kept on leash at all times. Have you ever hiked this beautiful trail in Sedona? Tell us about your experience in the comments! Follow us on Social Media!
