Thanks for giving me a few minutes to describe how this tool can help you build and prioritize business strategies twice as fast. When people build strategies in a more traditional way, they often face analysis paralysis when they can’t make proper decisions or simply don’t know how to evaluate ideas systematically. Strategic Quadrant helps individuals and teams see a big picture to make better decisions quickly. It uses a two-by-two matrix to present information and categorize business challenges. You can build different business models with Strategic Quadrant. Let’s say I’m evaluating to replace an existing HR Management system.  I can use a priority payoff matrix to perform a gap analysis of my existing systems. First, to set up a model, we need to fill in the assessment criteria for our project. Let’s enter Benefit for the vertical axis and Effort for the horizontal axis.  Benefit and Effort are critical components when we need to replace future functions and features.   Let’s also add a heat score as a criteria to determine the urgency of a function. Let’s add the different categories for the different quadrants.   Here. We are doing a gap analysis for our Talent Management System.  We can organize our functions and features into categories or themes such as Talent Management, Benefits, and Human Resource Management. With a tree structure, we can further break down the features into sub-features. Once we’re done with all ideas, we can start prioritizing. It’s as easy as opening a project and assigning a number of stars. Onboarding seems to be very valuable and doesn’t require too much effort. For the heat score, we will give this one star as we are lacking this function.  What it means is that this function would be a good early win candidate. Right now you see what quadrant of the matrix your function falls into, which helps you understand its priority. But let’s switch to a reporting mode to see the big picture. Look at our Early Win quadrant - we have 4 top priorities. If you’ll click on it, you’ll get a heat-map to see what functions fall into this category. The cool thing is that you can invite other people in your organization to view and plan the project together. You can even download it as an image or export the data into Excel for further analysis.
