What a day Thursday proved to be for 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 when, for the first time in our history, we staged two big sporting events in two countries. Whilst we were all living it up in London with the Props lunch with 𝗝𝗼𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗿 and 𝗗𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗲, our Irish club were doing the same at 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸, 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 - the spiritual home of Munster Rugby - with a fabulous Dinner with the 𝗜𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗯𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱 that is and forever will be 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗢'𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘆. Peter, not surprisingly, did not disappoint, being funny, insightful, inspirational and charismatic all at the same time. He had the large audience in the palm of his hand. But that was far from it. The very popular Bernard Jackman was in conversation with Peter and nailed it with his own sharp wit and humour plus his own huge knowledge from his rugby days. Then we had our MC, 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗵𝘆, rugby star, singer, and generally good, it seems, at pretty much everything. Barry nailed it, not just with his own wit, but also with the two cameo interviews he carried out with 𝗙𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝘆𝗲𝘀, former Irish rugby star, TV pundit, and a lady bursting with personality, and with 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗶𝗱, former goalkeeper and another great talker on the night.
