I headed back to one of the spots I grew up fishing,Narrabeen Lagoon on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. This time I set myself a challenge… LURES ONLY. No bait. Just lures and a whole lot of casting. After spending $140 at BCF on some of the best lures I could find, I headed down to the lagoon hoping to catch anything, flathead, bream, tailor… whatever would bite. But something happened under the bridge that I did not expect. Within the first 20 minutes I hooked into a solid fish…a fish that almost never gets caught on lures. From there the mission continued. Hundreds of casts, exploring Narrabeen Lagoon, drone shots, underwater footage, and trying to turn the day into a proper feed. To finish the adventure off, I take the fish home and show you how to fillet and cook a luderick for the first time in a catch and cook.
