The Sengol, the eternal symbol of transfer of power to India in 1947

At the inauguration of the new Parliament House on 28th May 2023, PM Narendra Modi will establish the historical and sacred 'Sengol' in the Parliament House. It will be installed close to the Speaker’s podium in the Lok Sabha. Considered as the symbol of fair and equitable governance, this is the same Sengol that was accepted by the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru on the night of 14th August.
