This means that the API specification, the contract between the API provider and API consumer, serves as the core of the design and experience. = About the Speaker = Emmelyn (emma-leen) Wang is an API Strategist (Principal Services Architect I) at Axway whose background includes developer community engagement #DevRel, working on API product teams building APIs for internal and external stakeholders, and supporting partners integrating with APIs. Emmelyn contributes to the AsyncAPI specification, the event-driven messaging sister spec to the OpenAPI OAS spec. She holds a Masters in Technical Communication and learned to code in C#/.NET, Javascript, Ruby on Rails, and Bootstrap frameworks. She is also learning Go. She contributes to and speaks at API Days, API the Docs, Write the Docs, Lavacon, Women Who Code, and STC events locally and worldwide. She is starting an APIOps group to complement WWCodeDFW. She loves her two dogs, trail running, yoga, and Orange Theory Fitness workouts.
