Dr. Desai attended The University of Texas, where he excelled in academics and was also an All-American athlete. He was later honored with the Outstanding Young Texas-Exes Award, given to only 4 people a year. Previous winners include Matthew McConaughey, Michael Dell, Roger Clemens, and Kevin Durant, amongst others. Dr. Desai now practices in the Dallas area, where he has a particular interest in lower extremity injuries and disorders in athletes. He is the Team Physician and Minority Owner of the Dallas Sidekicks Professional Indoor Soccer Team, a minority owner of the Indian Premier League Cricket Team Barbados Royals, and has been an Orthopaedic consultant for the NBA G-League Texas Legends, Allen Americans Pro Hockey Team, and Cirque de Soleil.
