Episode 35 Namaste, We are Shirish and Pooja and Welcome to "Puran Poli" Special Episode of ‪@RedSoilStories‬ It was a peaceful Saturday morning, I was having my morning tea. Pooja was planning to prepare a "Puran Poli Thali" for the guests. Our today's guests are Aniket and Shweta also known as ‪@goshtakokanatli‬ who are invited to our place for their Post marriage lunch ( केळवण ) by us. We were planning to invite Aniket and Shweta before their marriage for this ritual but it couldn't happen for some reasons. They are coming at our place around 11 am and I was supposed to pick them up from bus station. Before that Pooja sent me to the market to get some groceries and she started preparing for Puran poli recipe and also Katachi aamti ( Chana daal stew curry ). Puran Poli is one of the most popular dessert in Maharashtra and usually prepared for some festivals or any rituals like these. It is made up of nothing but Maida ( all purpose flour ), Wheat flour, Bengal gram (chana daal ), Jaggery and some oil. Meanwhile I received Aniket and Shweta and returned home and Pooja was ready with the Puranpoli. She welcomed them with lemonade and then prepared Katachi aamti with the help of Shweta. While we I and Aniket were gossiping the lunch was ready. Pooja asked Aniket and Shweta to have the lunch and start the "Kelwan" ritual. After lunch Pooja performed a ritual called "Oti bharne" where bothe Groom and Bride are given blessing in the form of some token of love. Later in the evening Aniket and Shweta went to their home but before that they invited us to their place for lunch. Let us know how do you liked this episode..
