The restaurant had already been evacuated upon arrival, but we could detect neither fire nor smoke. Recurring, dull bangs from the basement, where the building's gas and power supplies were located, prompted us to exercise extreme caution. As a precaution, we also evacuated neighboring buildings and contacted the energy company. The cause turned out to be a technical malfunction of the gas boiler. The force of the explosions was so strong that the fire door of the boiler room was ripped from its anchors. The energy company shut off the complex's gas and power supplies from the outside. Crews wearing breathing apparatus conducted measurements in the basement but could no longer detect a dangerous atmosphere, so the scene was handed over to the owner and the energy company. The operation ended at 5:30 p.m. In addition to the personnel from the full-time fire station, the Hochlar fire brigade, an ambulance, an emergency doctor, and the incident control service were also on site.
