Oskar Strok is a Latvian, Russian and Soviet composer, an outstanding melodist, nicknamed "the king of tango" during his lifetime. Already at the age of 12, he not only played the piano perfectly, but also composed his first romance. He studied piano at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, worked as an accompanist on stage and in cinema. Collaborated with many pop stars: Nadezhda Plevitskaya, Konstantin Sokolsky, Yuri Morfessi, Petr Leshchenko The main years of Strok's life and work were spent in Riga.
