These salty cookies are very delicious and simple to make. They are perfect with tea or coffee! Recipe: Homemade Salty Cookies Ingredients: 200g (1 ⅓ cups) of all-purpose/plain flour 80ml (⅓ cup) of milk 70g (2.5 oz) of unsalted melted butter 1 teaspoon of baking powder 1 egg yolk Caraway seeds Salt to taste Instructions: 1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C / 160 °C fan / 350F / gas mark 4. 2. To a large bowl, add the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt (¼ tsp). Mix. Add the butter and use a spatula to mix until combined. Then mix with your hands until crumbs are formed. 3. Pour the milk and knead until the dough comes together. Transfer to a work surface and knead for about 2 minutes. 4. Roll out the dough into a thin sheet. Cut out small circles about 5 ½ cm (2.2’’) in diameter. This recipe makes 30 small cookies. Place the small circles on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Poke holes in each small circles using a fork. 5. Mix the egg yolk with 1 teaspoon of water. Brush the dough with the egg yolk mixture. Sprinkle with salt and caraway seeds. 6. Bake for 20 minutes. Allow to cool down for several minutes before serving. Enjoy! Notes/Tips: The cookies can stay in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
