CBC Organises Swachhta Pakhwara Outreach Programme at Media Centre Jammu The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Regional Office Jammu, today organized a mini Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) at the Media Centre Campus, Jammu, as part of the observance of Swachhta Pakhwara–2026, with a focus on the vision of Viksit Bharat. The programme was held under the chairmanship of Ghulam Abbas, Director, CBC, J&K and Ladakh. Dr. Dilip Kumar, Regional Director, IIMC Jammu, and Ayushi Puri, Deputy Director, CBC graced the occasion. Rajesh Kumar Malik, Senior Accounts Officer, CBC & PIB; Ashwani Kumar Gupta, Senior Accounts Officer, CBDT; O.P. Maurya, Administrative Officer, CBC J&K; Heads of CBC Field Offices Kathua and Poonch, along with staff members of CBC Regional Office Jammu, were also present. During the programme, Ghulam Abbas, Director, CBC, presented the Regional Award for Exemplary Service to Shri Ashwani Kumar Gupta, Senior Accounts Officer, CBDT, for his valuable contribution to the functioning of CBC, Regional Office Jammu. Shri Neeraj Verma, Senior Instrumentalist, CBC, R.O. Jammu, was also honoured for receiving the State Award for Performing Arts. Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Abbas highlighted that cleanliness is a collective responsibility and a cornerstone of nation building. He emphasized that Swachhta should not remain limited to campaigns but must become a daily habit, contributing directly to the realization of a clean, healthy, and Viksit Bharat. He urged everyone to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness at workplaces and public spaces. Dr. Dilip Kumar, Regional Director, IIMC Jammu, stated that adherence to constitutional values, civic sense, and cleanliness are essential pillars in achieving the national goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047. He encouraged citizens, especially youth, to play an active role in this transformation. In her address, Ayushi Puri, Deputy Director, CBC, said that the true strength of a nation lies in its responsible, aware, and disciplined citizens. She emphasized that cleanliness, honesty, and commitment towards duties are fundamental to strengthening democracy and accelerating India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat. Earlier, O.P. Maurya, Administrative Officer, presented the welcome address and briefed the gathering about the organizational structure and extensive outreach initiatives of CBC. He informed that CBC has conducted ICOPs in far-flung, media-shadowed, and remote areas such as Turtuk, Zanskar, Marwah, Machhedi, Dudu–Basantgarh, Sawjian, and Buffliaz, besides covering major mass events like Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and Jhiri Mela through exhibitions and cultural programmes. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Rajesh Kumar Malik, Senior Accounts Officer. Ravinder Vaishnavi, Senior O.A., also spoke on the importance of Swachhta Pakhwara and sustainable cleanliness practices. The event featured theme-based, patriotic, and folk cultural performances by departmental and empanelled artists of CBC. An open quiz was conducted to engage students of Luthra Higher Secondary School, Kachhi Chhawni, and local participants.
