I can barely recognize San Antonio with all the changes over the past few years. The city has transformed, especially with the influx of new residents during the Great Migration in the few recent years. It feels like something new pops up on every corner, yet some things about San Antonio remain timeless. In this video, we're diving into the all-new pros and cons of living in San Antonio, Texas. I’ll share everything you need to know about living in this great city, and a few things I’m not so crazy about. Let’s jump in! San Antonio’s location is unbeatable. Located in Central Texas, it’s the gateway to the Hill Country and just a few hours’ drive from the beach. You can enjoy a weekend getaway to South Padre Island, Port Aransas, or Rockport. Want a day trip? Austin is just a short drive away, close enough to visit without fully immersing yourself in its “weirdness.” Plus, we don’t have to deal with the extreme weather challenges of other Texas cities. No hurricanes, fewer tornadoes, and overall milder conditions. San Antonio is packed with activities for everyone. Of course, we’re here at the iconic River Walk—always a big deal. Just down the road, there’s the trendy Pearl District, and the downtown area as a whole is amazing. My family and I love exploring the city. We’re regulars at SeaWorld, the zoo, and Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch and Caverns. There are also museums, parks, and dining spots that keep us busy year-round. Shopping? San Antonio has you covered. From La Cantera and The Rim to the iconic North Star Mall and Alamo Quarry Market, there’s something for everyone. Outdoors enthusiasts like me will love spots like Bass Pro Shops. The variety here is unmatched! San Antonio is one of the largest cities in the country, but it doesn’t always feel like it when it comes to entertainment. Compared to cities like Dallas or Houston, we often get passed over for major A-list concerts and events. While we have the beloved San Antonio Spurs, we lack the professional sports variety that larger cities offer. Minor league teams and the XFL are great, but it’s not quite the same.
