On 2024-03-27 Brock Coalition Against Antisemitism held a special event on the campus of Brock University, Niagara Region, Canada. This was a follow-up event to a previous showing of “#NOVA“, a powerful raw-footage documentary, composed of contributions from cell-phone and bodycam recordings, with no additional commentary of just one part of the massacre perpetrated by Hamas terrorists and accompanying Palestinian civilians on October 7, 2023. It was a difficult experience and this follow-up event was a chance to reflect and to interact with one another, in shared humanity. We were exceptionally fortunate that Liel and Shoham, two survivors of the October 7th massacre joined us to share their first-hand account of how a joyous music festival quickly became a horror scene, and what it took to survive, to mourn the friends they lost, and to keep on living in the aftermath. Postscriptum: At the end of August, 2024, the body of hostage Alex Lobanov was extracted from Gaza, one of the six hostages held in an underground tunnels for almost 11 months, and shot as the IDF troops were approaching.
