Jasmine Khemani from Singapore finds her ancestral home in Old Hala, Sindh

In August 1947, India gained independence from the British and split into two new states, Pakistan and India. Jasmine’s family came from Old Hala, Sindh present-day Pakistan. Her family left after the partition and left all their belongings and land behind. They lived a few years in India and eventually moved to Singapore and never came back. One of her dreams has been to visit Old Hala to see where her grandparents come from. She contacted Halacitizens via Instagram to ask about the old post office. I did some research and shared whatever information I could with her. She finally made the trip to Hala with her friends on April 1, 2022. I didn’t get a chance to meet her but she shared these beautiful pictures and videos of how she finally found her family’s home and street! Enjoy and please leave your comments below! P.S.
