Departmental Seminar: 28/2/24 Ishaq Al-Naabi, Language Lecturer, University of Technology and Applied Sciences - Oman Despite the widespread adoption of professional development webinars within higher education, a fundamental question persists: can these platforms truly transform teachers’ online pedagogical approaches? This seminar unveils findings from a case study, rooted in transformative learning theory, investigating the efficacy of professional development webinars for university language teachers in transforming their online teaching methodologies. The seminar provides some recommendations for enhancing professional development webinars within the context of higher education. Bio Ishaq Al-Naabi is a lecturer in the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Oman. He manages post-foundation English courses. He pursues a PhD in the Department of Educational Research at Lancaster University. His interests include teacher professional development and online pedagogies.
