hi all—so happy to finally release this. it's a homage to one of our favorite poets, Sylvia Plath. I wish we could have used all of her words from the original poem, but, because of copyright silliness, we wrote a song inspired by it instead with a few referenced lines. we tried to keep the feeling as close to the original as possible, though, and hope you all feel it honors her appropriately! if you love this song, please do go and read some of her poetry, which has spoken to so many hearts for good reason. *** this kicks off the release of our fourth LP, happiness is easy, a two-part double album, the first part of which will be released just in time for our fall tour! so many things have happened in the last 18 months while we worked on this—we have grown immeasurable as musicians and songwriters and people...I'm so proud of my little ragtag group of misfits, our little duct-tape-and-paperclip team, and even the little mobile home in which we live (some leaks in the roof and problems in the pipes, but she's still hanging on by a thread!). we filmed this whole thing here in humble UTRHQ with an old JVC camera and a chalk board, and edited it on a laptop without a space key. to SUPPORT US and what we love to do...
