This is the tom I harvested January 2023. The dogs performed fantastic, I found the short side of the track just before noon and turned out. The dogs took it right away and after half a mile tracking, they had him on his feet. He ran about a mile and treed in some cottonwoods at the bottom of the main canyon. I was lucky enough to get to share the experience with my youngest daughter as you can see. Sorry for the shoddy videography, I record with my phone and I’m still learning how to edit. The tom weighed 167lbs and green scores 14 and 15/16 inches. I hope to have him officially scored later this year. For anyone who is curious, yes I am eating him and no I didn’t leave any meat in the field.
