A kite fishing trip to Waipu Cove. Ten to 15 knot winds and an over-weighted bottle made the kite fishing rig set at about half walking speed. The gear stopped setting so we figured we had caught something big enough to overpower the pull from the fishing kite. The gannets attack was so frenzied it drove the baitfish right up to the shore and a dozen or so pilchards and mackerel actually beached themselves in the mayhem.
