You can apply this rhythmic pattern to so many songs in 4/4 time and just about any reggae song - in this video we use the chords for Bob Marley’s “I Shot the Sheriff” as our template, which was recorded in the key of G minor. The use of barre chords turns out to be a good thing here because it allows us to achieve the staccato 8th notes that are so essential to reggae by simply relaxing our hand.
