Built at an altitude of 440 meters, Palaios #Panteleimon is a renovated #traditional #settlement that has been declared a cultural heritage monument. It is located in the Prefecture of Pieria and is easily accessible as it is 3 km from the national road, 35 km from #Katerini, 105 km from #Thessaloniki and 406 km from #Athens. The village was founded in the 14th century, but after the war in 1950 it was abandoned. Since the 1980s it has been renovated with care and love, so that today it can offer modern comforts to #visitors, while maintaining the charm of another era! As you approach the settlement by #car, the images and the view will enchant you. On the main pedestrian street of Paleos Panteleimonas, made of local stone, you are welcomed by locals selling honey and local products. Soon, high-quality inns and guesthouses and elegant shops with #souvenirs, spoon sweets, perfumes and anything else you can imagine appear. You really won’t know where to look first! The road descends and we approach the village square dominated by the #church of Agios Panteleimonas from 1914.
