Ant Anstead's 1938 Alfa Romeo Alfetta 158 Re-Creation - BARRETT-JACKSON

Lot #1044 - Hand-built by automotive TV personality Ant Anstead, this Alfetta 158 re-creation uses the Alfa Romeo all-aluminum twin-cam 4C; however, the 2.0-liter engine has been fully rebuilt to track specifications. The engine is polished, ported and gas flowed with a lightened flywheel, Weber Sidedraft carburetor upgrades, electronic ignition and a dry sump system. It retains an Alfa 5-speed manual transmission, cleverly engineered offset rear axle with limited-slip differential and adjustable coilover dampers. The entire car is bespoke, using a two-piece composite bodyshell and tailor-made spaceframe on top of a period MGTD ladder frame.
