I've been doing Vitreoretinal Surgery for a long time, and did two retinal fellowships, one in Goiânia, Brazil - 1996 and one in Toronto, Canada - 1997. I've visit many Retinal Services throughout the world and learned differente techniques. I performed this procedure, 360 degrees retinotomy to show an easy way to attach the retina in difficult cases. Unfortunately some PVR's ( proliferative vitreoretinopathy ) are difficult to resolve, even with hard work in peeling epiretinal, intraretinal membranes or internal limiting membranes. I use wide angle vitrectomy viewing systems, I used all already ( Eibos, Biom, Avi, etc ) but I was stuck with the volk system...In this case the funnel shape of the detachment avoides the attachment of the retina.
