On May 2016, it was the perfect day to launch our Gavox watches in near space (35km where space is 100Km) This was a fantastic experiment to prove the watch would sustain a trip in near vacuum, and -60 °C) We decided to create a protected box holding: 1 Gavox Aurora ref GA-446.1 1 Gavox Avidiver ref GA-AVD-114.0 2 Gopro (one inside the box and one outside to film the watches with the box 1 Spot Satellite Tracker 1 GSM Tracker with geo-localisation 1 IPHONE 5S to make a closeup video of the Watches and could use it as a Tracker with IFIND app 2 Extra USB battery pack 1 hand heater pouch 1 1.5m parachute 1 latex balloon with 6m2 of Helium gas Total weight of payload 1.950Kg Total flight duration 03:27 Total Distance between launch and landing 105Km We had to change the location for the launch as the meteorological calculation informed us that the lan, ding could hit a city. We used this Cambridge app to guide us in our estimations ; http://predict.habhub.org/ The flight was 1 hour longer than anticipated ( :-) ) this was stressful. And it landed on a tree top making the retrieval a bit hard, Thanks for the local lumber guy who helped us All gear held the stress of the flight and still works now The Gavox Avidiver ( An automatic Watch ) and fully water and pressure resistant held perfectly during the whole flight The Gavox Aurora had it setting automatically changed due to the High depression having as effect to pull the crown. Once back on the ground a hand reindexing brought back the watch in perfect condition This was an amazing experience http://gavox.com
