We’re headed into the Nevada desert to see firsthand one of the best examples of a drift fence in the Great Basin – just north of Reno. It’s long, it’s old (really old!) and was built by early native Americans. We’re going to drive all the way out there with a leading archaeological expert on the subject. At the end we’ll stop off at the Reno Bar and Grill for a fine craft beer! Thanks to viewer Marc Leukhardt for suggesting the content for this video. Please visit our merch shop! Shirts, hats, stickers etc.! Designs for both this channel and Reno itself: https://SteveTRYK.redbubble.com Check out and follow our new Facebook page – follow it and see behind the scenes and hear about future episodes! https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?... Growing this channel should get me the credibility to get access to even better content for you! Title theme written and performed by Steve. Drums by Scott Taylor. Other music courtesy of the YouTube Creator library. This is the place to learn interesting things about Reno, the state of Nevada and the American west! I've lived in Reno for 38 years (as an adult!). I've had a lifelong interest in history and spend much time exploring and researching this wonderful area. I started this channel to share some of what I've learned. I produced a full-length documentary film on the history of Reno's Harolds Club casino in 2015. Perhaps you're thinking of moving to Reno and looking for background on the area, or you're already a resident and this content might help give you a sense of place. I shall endeavor to cater to both groups! I'm also a craft beer enthusiast, and thought I'd talk about some of that scene here as well. I started homebrewing in 1992 and earned the Certified Cicerone designation in 2015 - this is a sommelier-like program for beer people. Please subscribe, share and come along with me on this journey! Thanks and cheers! Steve #history #abandoned #nevada #archaeology
