Clubbers Guide to Breaks Vol. 2 (Disc 1) - Mixed by Kid Kenobi (2002)

This came out pretty soon after the first one so in all honesty it was a little tricky trying to make it bang as hard as the first one! As the first one was, well, the first one, I had basically every big breaks track I had ever played in the clubs to choose from. With this one I was a little more restricted. That said, I was stoked to be teaming up with the homie MC Shureshock again as well as having my first ever studio production on the disc via the ‘La La Land’ remix with Poxy Music (though all the actual production was done by the extremely talented Sameer Sengupta). Despite this milestone it took me another 12 years to feel I was actually any good at producing music on my own and maybe 20 all up to feel I was in full control of my artistry as a producer! The second disc on this release was a personal fave of mine and a refection of many of the tunes I was playing in bar gigs at the time. Nu Jazz and Broken Beat are still some of my favourite genres today, the essence of which still finds its way into my @sekondskinmusic productions (I’ll upload the second disc soon!).
