Founded by Jamiah Hargins in 2018, Crop Swap LA™ has grown from a small monthly neighborhood swap of fruits and vegetables to a globally recognized movement. Crop Swap LA™ is on a mission to grow food on unused spaces, creating sustainable jobs and local, nutrient-rich food in communities affected most by food insecurity. ​In this process, they empower the members of their community and place the power of self-sufficiency back into their own hands. They believe that food should be grown and consumed locally to reduce reliance on inefficient, water and carbon-intensive global supply chains.
