The auto lacing sneaker, it was first introduced as a concept in 1989s Back to the future with the iconic scene where Marty McFly first arrives in the fictional year of 2015. For years after the movie, the tech was seen as nothing more than a sneakerhead's pipe dream. That is until, they actually released working models. The Nike auto lacing tech was a revolutionary futuristic concept that had the potential to take sneakers into a whole new direction, and further establish Nike as artist of innovation.
