Mo Tzu-yi graduated in Drama from the Department of Theatre Arts at Taipei National University of the Arts. Mo has many years of experience in acting and has received many nominations at various awards. A brilliant and yet low-key actor, Mo loves theatre arts so much that he spends half of his time on theatre productions every year. Known for his distinctiveness and otherness, Mo began his acting career in 1996, and since then, he has participated in a wide range of genres in different fields. Furthermore, Mo’s voice has such unique charm that for years, he has worked as a voice actor in multiple forms. In 2017, Mo published a book titled “Insomniac,” which he made into a musical with the pianist Huang Yu-siang and the musician Birdman C, and in 2022, the trio collaborated on another musical, Dennis in Wonderland. In 2020, Mo won the Golden Horse Award Best Leading Actor and the Taipei Film Award Best Actor for “Dear Tenant.” Moreover, in the same year, the Taiwan Film Critics Society voted him Best Actor, and the Youth Film Handbook voted him Best Actor of the Year. In 2022, Mo was nominated Best Supporting Actor for “Goddamned Asura” at the Taipei Film Awards and in 2024, he was nominated Best Supporting Actor for “The Embers” at the Golden Horse Awards. Mo served on the shortlist jury of the 21st Taipei Film Awards in 2021 and the final stage jury of the 60th Golden Horse Awards in 2023.
