The story follows Jimi Homeless, born James Lee Holmes, a Skid Row native who has been homeless since birth and mentored from age 10 by homeless blues legend James "Hurricane" Finlay. Forever impaired by Budweiser and inhalants, Jimi rejects school and shuns the "houseless" label. After he discovers a one-string dumpster guitar, he forms "The Jimi Homeless Experience." The band plays earnest 1970s-style classic rock originals about the struggles of street life, but audiences find them comically endearing. Soon, managed by Jon Kinyon, they record under his MK-ULTRA RECORDS, gig at Sunset Strip venues like The Roxy, Viper Room, and Whisky a Go Go, and hit strip clubs where they meet record execs. Studio drama ensues: Jimi's no-shows and brutal hangovers lead to a replacement singer for Jimi's band. "Fake Jimi" is plagued by statutory rape accusations, apparent gang "hits" being put out on his life, and even worse drug issues, forcing Jimi's return. Growing success in Hollywood sparks copycat parody bands like The Dixie Pricks, REO Speedealer, L. Ron Hitler, ZZ Topless, Jefferson Airplane Glue, and The Hateful Dead. Jimi is a multimedia artist who designs all art, posters, and merch for his band; he published a book of wisdom called "Street Smarts"; and he excels in stand-up comedy with edgy jokes on poverty, drugs, and society. He also engineered and produced three blues records for Hurricane James Blues Project. The film's soundtrack will feature new songs from The Jimi Homeless Experience and the aforementioned parody bands, blending gritty rock with satirical twists. Directed by Jon Kinyon, the film is sure to capture Jimi's rebellious manifesto against conformity through unfiltered humor and street revelations.
