GeoBal offers a unique opportunity for significant improvement in engine core assembly/balance processes with a target to reduce maintenance costs and improve engine performance for an airline. Even though an engine shop may be delivering good quality with competitive pricing for its customers today, GeoBal offers an opportunity to improve engine quality, reliability and performance at lower maintenance costs. Axiam's new GeoBal Process enables an engine shop to assemble and balance the entire engine core optimally for each set of parts on the first pass, dramatically reducing total assembly time, using Axiam's proprietary computer technology, procedures and tooling. Engine cores (rotors, mating rotors to shafts, bearings, seals, casings & blade distribution) are built straight about the actual centerline of rotation at each rotor stage, thereby mathematically optimizing blade tip clearances and balance during assembly.
