Join me on an Ultra HD scenic driving tour from Houston, Texas, USA to Brenham, Texas! We are taking US 290 out of the city, so we are guaranteed to be passing a lot of road construction on the way! Brenham is a small town located North West of Houston. It is best known for being the home of the Blue Bell Ice Cream company. It is a weekend, so there will not be that much traffic on our car trip, but there is always some traffic in Houston! Brenham is located in Washington County, Texas. It is very close to Washington on the Brazos, Texas which is the birthplace of Texas. It is called the birthplace of Texas because it is the location of the signing of the Texas Declaration of Independence in 1836. Brenham is one of the numerous German communities in Texas. There was a large wave of German migration to the area in the mid 19th century. Many people in the Brenham area are of German descent. Some people still speak German or Czech in the home. Many aspects of German culture are still observed and celebrated. This includes a yearly celebration in Brenham called Maifest. Thank you for taking the time to watch my driving tour video.
